Making the decision to commit to counseling takes courage. I feel honored to share your journey and hope to offer support and guidance along the way.
Your first step is to call for a free phone consultation. At this time we will talk about what brings you to therapy now. This is an opportunity to ask questions about services and ensure that we will be a good match.
We will then come up with an appointment. Please download and complete the new client forms, you can also complete the consent forms for alpha-stim and NADA 5-Point Ear Acupuncture, if you are interested in these services.
On the day of our appointment please arrive on time with all the completed new client forms. It is also helpful for you to consider:
- How would you sum up the problem in a couple of sentences?
- What do you want to change?
- How will you know when things have improved (What will you be doing/thinking/feeling differently)?
Therapy Works, LLC is located on the upper level of the Maude Gregg Professional Building. Parking can be found in the back of the building or in front of the building on Colorado Ave. The building is a quiet atmosphere meant to be a sanctuary for healing. Please turn off your cell phone ringer and use a quiet voice while in the common areas. The waiting room and bathroom are located upstairs just outside the office.
The first appointment, we will make introductions, review your history and the completed paperwork, discuss the problem, identify goals and come up with a plan for treatment. This is an opportunity to get to know one another and begin a partnership to meet your goals and ultimately help you live a value congruent life.
Follow up sessions will continue to build the relationship and work toward your goals. This might include skill building, processing difficult memories, exploring thoughts, emotions, and sensations, journal writing, reading books, reviewing homework, and much more. Each session is individualized and tailored to your specific needs. I am flexible and believe you are the most important part of your healing journey. You hold the keys to finding meaning and living with purpose. Like many of life’s meaningful ventures therapy can be a difficult process. Sometimes people notice their symptoms get worse before they improve. This can be discouraging but if you hang in there and work hard you will reap the benefits of this worthwhile challenge. With time, practice and dedication you will begin to notice life enhancing changes. Therapy Works!
