I am a busy mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend, niece, and I recently became an aunt to a beautiful baby girl. My boys keep me busy and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We enjoy adventures of all kinds!
A Little more about me…
I grew up on a farm/ranch just outside a small town in Southeastern Colorado. My love for helping others, strong sense of community, appreciation of animals, and dedication to my loved ones was nurtured here.
After graduating from high school, I moved to Ft. Collins, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts at Colorado State University. I was fortunate to spend a semester abroad in Australia and then began working toward my Masters in Counseling at the University of Wyoming. I lived and worked in Northern Colorado for several years before relocating to Pueblo to be closer to family and delicious green chile.
I have worked in a variety of settings, including; a residential treatment center for young children; the division of youth corrections to help adolescents in the legal system; a 28 day in-patient unit for service members/veterans/family members suffering from PTSD; and community mental health.
I opened Therapy Works, LLC (my one-woman shop) in 2014. I love private practice for so many reasons. It offers me the flexibility to offer quality treatment without the constraints and bureaucracy that comes with large corporations. I feel so fortunate and appreciate my clients. There is no greater professional joy for me than celebrating with clients in their success.
I have been drawn to helping people for as long as I can remember. Working with survivors of trauma (a deeply distressing or disturbing experience) has been my passion and specialty since my career began 11 years ago. I have witnessed the pervasive nature of the symptoms that accompany trauma and have so much respect for the courage and strength it takes to keep trying.
When that struggle becomes overwhelming and a burden you can no longer bear on your own, I would be honored to facilitate your healing journey. Together through the collaborative process of therapy we can reduce your distress and create hope, meaning, and improve your quality of life.
Therapy can help people confront barriers that interfere with all aspects of life and overall well-being. It can also increase positive feelings such as compassion, self-esteem, love, courage, and peace. My goal is to help you clarify your values, process disturbing memories, eliminate the constraints of the past, and ultimately live a full and meaningful life.
